Before spending time and energy on the application process, it’s worth doing a quick eligibility check. PES University’s management quota admission has specific requirements, and missing any of them means your application won’t move forward.
The first and most fundamental requirement is academic:
your child must have passed Class 12 (or 2nd PUC) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. The minimum aggregate marks in PCM should be 60%. Some sources cite 45% as the minimum overall Class 12 aggregate, but the specific PCM requirement of 60% is the operative figure for B.Tech management quota. If marks fall below this threshold, management quota at PESU isn’t an option.
The second requirement is entrance exam participation.
From 2026 onwards, students must have appeared in either JEE Main 2026 or KCET 2026. This is important — appearing for the exam is mandatory, but a high score is not required for management quota. Students who have appeared in both exams have more flexibility and may be eligible for additional quota options.
PESSAT, PES University’s management quotas own entrance exam, has been discontinued for B.Tech admissions starting 2026. So if you were planning to sit PESSAT as your management quota entry point, that’s no longer needed.
For NRI, PIO, Foreign, or Gulf Quota students, different eligibility criteria apply — typically involving international academic credentials and proof of NRI or PIO status from the parent. The university’s admissions office handles these cases individually.
For MBA and MTech programs, management quota is also available.
The eligibility for MBA requires a valid CAT/MAT/CMAT score alongside your undergraduate degree. MTech management quota is open to engineering graduates meeting the university’s specified criteria.
If you’re unsure whether your child qualifies, a quick call or email to PES University’s admissions office (via admissions.pes.edu) will get you a clear answer. Don’t assume — always verify before investing time in the application.
